Whiskey Acres 101 Proof Four Grain Bourbon (75cl, 50.5%)

Whiskey Acres Four Grain is an estate bourbon from DeKalb, Illinois, bottled at 50.5% (101 proof) in a 75cl bottle. All four grains are grown on the same farm where the whiskey is distilled. The mashbill combines yellow dent corn, soft red winter wheat, Hazlet rye and barley. The barrels mature in converted metal grain bins rather than a traditional rickhouse, and the bourbon is non-chill-filtered. The nose offers caramel, butter-toffee, baking spices and caramel corn. On the palate there is ripe apple, vanilla crème brûlée, peppery rye, toasted coconut and soft wheat sweetness. The finish is long and soft, with red berry notes fading into peppery spice.
