Whitlaw 2014 6 Year Old Signatory Vintage Very Cloudy (70cl, 40%)

This is a 6 year old single malt from Highland Park on Orkney, bottled by Signatory Vintage under the Whitlaw name as part of its Very Cloudy range. Highland Park dries its malted barley on site using peat cut from Hobbister Moor. It was aged in old butts and bottled from a small batch of two to five casks, reduced to 40% without chill filtration or colouring. The slightly cloudy appearance is typical of the range. The character combines subtle smoke with white fruits and a rich, oily texture. The range is best at room temperature, or lightly chilled to bring out that oiliness.
