Wilderness Trail – Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon (75cl, 50%)

Wilderness Trail Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon is a small-batch bourbon from the distillery in Danville, Kentucky, in a 750ml bottle. It uses wheat rather than rye as its secondary grain, and every batch is made with a fresh sweet mash instead of backset. It was matured for at least four years in heavily toasted, #4 char barrels and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) to Bottled-in-Bond standards. The nose is typically described as vanilla bean, butterscotch, dark cherry, graham cracker crust and toasted oak. The palate brings creamy caramel, baked orchard fruit, honey, nutmeg and cinnamon, and the finish is long and warming, with butterscotch, cinnamon and vanilla custard.
