Willett Family Estate 11 Year Old is a small batch Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at barrel proof, 65.7% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. It was made for the Willett family's Private Barrel Selection programme and is not chill-filtered. The mashbill is 72% corn, 13% rye and 15% malted barley.
On the nose there is sourdough bread and sweet cola, followed by fruit candy and a rich undercurrent of caramel. The palate starts lightly, then layers of caramel spread out alongside peppery spice, vanilla, cinnamon and liquorice. The finish is warm and creamy, with a subtle smokiness from the barrel.
