Willett – Family Estate Rye Whiskey 4 Years Old (70cl, 54.4%)

A four-year-old straight rye from Willett in Bardstown, Kentucky, in the Family Estate range. This small batch is made from rye, corn and malted barley, aged in selected white oak casks and bottled at cask strength, 54.4%, without chill-filtering or colouring. The label carries the family crest, and the bottling is one of Willett's Rare Releases. The nose combines rich caramel sweetness with rye spice and hints of chocolate gingerbread. The palate is dense and creamy, with toffee, rye bread, dark chocolate, cinnamon and a little black pepper. The finish is slow and leaves chocolate-coated oat biscuits.
