William Larue Weller 2014 is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, in a 75cl bottle at 70.1% ABV (140.2 proof). It was distilled in spring 2002 and bottled in 2014, after about twelve years and three months in new charred oak.
The bourbon is bottled at barrel proof, uncut and unfiltered. Wheat replaces rye as the secondary grain.
The nose offers deep caramel, vanilla bean, dark cherry, toasted oak, brown sugar and baking spice. The palate is full-bodied, with toffee, dark chocolate, dried fruit and cinnamon. The finish is very long and warming, with dark fruit, sweet oak, leather and spice.
