William Larue Weller 2015 is the cask-strength wheated bourbon from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, bottled at 63.3% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is uncut and unfiltered, and comes from Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, Kentucky. The whiskey is between 10 and 14 years old, chosen by the master distiller for the 2015 annual release. Wheat, rather than rye, is the secondary grain in the mashbill. The notes describe caramel and vanilla on the nose, and a powerful, full palate of caramel, toffee and warm spice. The finish is long, evolving and deeply warming.
