A wheated Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace, released in 2018 as part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. It was distilled in winter 2007 and matured in Warehouse I.
It is bottled uncut and unfiltered at 64% ABV (128 proof), in a 750ml bottle. Wheat takes the place of rye in the mash bill, which the notes link to a caramel-forward character.
The nose brings caramel, vanilla, dark fruit, toasted oak and honeyed sweetness. The palate has toffee, dark chocolate, dried cherry and baking spice, with a silky wheat sweetness. The finish is long and warming, with caramel, vanilla and oak.
