A cask strength wheated bourbon from Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, Kentucky, and the William Larue Weller release in the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. This is the 2022 annual release, bottled uncut and unfiltered, with wheat rather than rye as the secondary grain. The whisky is between 10 and 14 years old.
The nose offers caramel and vanilla with the sweetness of the wheat. The palate is powerful and full, with caramel, warm spice and dried fruit. The finish is very long and keeps evolving rather than fading.
