A Kentucky straight bourbon from Woodford Reserve, this Double Oaked Distillers Select was bottled for the 2025 Kentucky Bourbon Festival. It comes in a 75cl bottle at 45.2% ABV, a higher strength and larger size than the regular Double Oaked, with a markedly different flavour profile.
The bourbon is matured twice, in separate charred oak barrels. The second barrel is deeply toasted before a light charring, which adds soft, sweet oak character.
The nose offers dark fruit, caramel, honey, chocolate, marzipan and toasted oak. The palate is full-bodied, with vanilla, dark caramel, hazelnut, apple and spices, and the finish is long and creamy with honeyed apple.
