Woodinville Whiskey 8 Year Rye is a 100% rye whiskey from Washington State, aged eight years in American oak and bottled at 50% in a 750ml bottle.
The rye comes from the Omlin family farm in Quincy. The grain travels across the Cascade Range to Woodinville for milling, mashing and distillation, then returns to Quincy to mature in custom-specified, long-seasoned, toasted and charred American oak barrels. The mashbill contains no corn and no malted barley.
The nose has dark molasses, baked rye bread, brown sugar, clove and dried cherry. Spiced caramel and cinnamon lead the palate, with vanilla, dark honey and roasted walnut. The finish is long and warm, with black pepper and dry oak.
