This is a straight rye whiskey from Woodinville Whiskey Company in Washington, made from a 100% rye mashbill and bottled at 45% in a 75cl bottle. It won Double Gold and Best Rye Whiskey at the 2017 American Distilling Institute Craft Spirits Awards.
All the rye comes from a single family farm in Quincy, Washington. The whiskey is distilled at Woodinville and aged in barrel houses in central Washington. The barrel wood is seasoned outdoors for eighteen months before coopering.
The nose has cinnamon, clove, fruit leather and marzipan. The palate brings caramel, honey, ginger and citrus. The finish is long and peppery, with caramel, chocolate and clove.
