Woodinville Whiskey Port Finished Bourbon is a Washington State straight bourbon, bottled at 45% ABV. The bourbon matures for five years before six months in port barrels from Portugal's Douro Valley.
The mashbill is 72% corn, 22% rye and 7% malted barley. The distillery also seasons its barrel wood in the open air for eighteen months before coopering.
The nose offers candied cherry, dried plums, brown sugar, vanilla and fresh-cut oak, with nutmeg and clove beneath. On the palate are baked plums, chocolate-covered cherries, blueberry and raspberry, and the texture is viscous. The finish is medium-long, with dried fruit, clove and cocoa.
