Writers' Tears Double Cask is an Irish whiskey that blends single pot still and single malt, both triple distilled. It was aged in ex-bourbon casks from Kentucky and in French Cognac casks, and is bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered. It is a joint product of the Walsh family of Ireland and the Legaret family of Cognac. The brand comes from Walsh Whiskey Distillery and takes its name from the 19th-century link between Irish writers and whiskey. The nose is sweet vanilla, cinnamon, plum and pear. The palate brings citrus peel with chocolate undertones and lasting spice. The finish is elegant and full of flavour.
