Yellowstone 6 Year Old 150th Anniversary (75cl, 50%)

Yellowstone 6 Year Old 150th Anniversary is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 75cl bottle, matured for six years in new charred oak and bottled at 50% without chill-filtration or added colour. It was distilled at Limestone Branch to a family recipe from the records of Stephen Beam's grandfather, Guy Beam, using a yeast strain rebuilt from DNA in a yeast jar that belonged to his great-grandfather. The edition marks 150 years of both the bourbon brand and Yellowstone National Park, which each date back to 1872. The neck of the bottle carries the years 1872 to 2022. It appeared in 2022, first in Montana and Wyoming. The nose combines toasted caramel and candied nuts with tobacco and oak. The palate is robust, with citrus and toasted oak alongside fine marzipan and spice, and the medium finish leaves a nutty aftertaste.
