1792 Small Batch is a straight bourbon from the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, bottled at 46.85% in a 70cl bottle. The mash bill has a marked share of rye, and the whiskey matures in new American white oak. It is chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose is fruity, with oak, rye, cinnamon and clove alongside apple and pear. On the palate it is powerful yet soft, with oak, caramel and spice, butterscotch, ripe figs and the structure of dark rye bread. The finish is full of spice with a touch of pepper.
