Akashi – Toji Blended Japanese Whisky (70cl, 40%)

This is a blended Japanese whisky from Akashi, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is made by a Toji, a master of sake brewing, who applies sake-making methods to whisky production. The still is smaller than those used in Scottish and other Japanese distilleries, which lowers the level of fusel alcohol, so the whisky needs less ageing. The nose has honey, pepper, vanilla and light peat. The palate brings honey, chocolate, pepper, oak, vanilla and dried fruits, and the finish carries honey, spice and cinnamon.
