Akashi White Oak 3 Year Old Bourbon Barrel

This is a three-year-old Akashi whisky from the White Oak distillery of Eigashima Shuzo. It was matured in a bourbon barrel and bottled after three years. The distillery was founded in 1888 to make sake, and Eigashima Shuzo obtained its whisky licence in 1919, four years before Yamazaki was built. That gives it a legitimate claim to being the oldest whisky producer in Japan. Only a limited number of bottles were released.
