Amrut – Ex-Port Pipe Indian Single Malt Whisky BSW Barrel (70cl, 46.2%)

This is an unpeated Indian single malt from Amrut, a cask selected by BSW with Rohit & Friends. The whisky is first matured in ex-bourbon casks, then finished in large Portuguese Port pipes of about 550 litres, which give it a tawny character and a ruby-copper hue. It is bottled at 46.2% in a 70cl bottle. The accelerated maturation of the Bangalore climate is part of its character. The nose offers stewed plums, raisins and dark chocolate, with Amrut's spicy malt. The palate is full-bodied and chewy, with honeyed nuts, black cherries and sweet oak. The finish is long and warming, with port wine and cinnamon.
