Amrut – Indian Single Malt Cask Strength (70cl, 61.8%)

Amrut Indian Single Malt Cask Strength is a single malt from India, bottled at 61.8% in a 70cl bottle. It is made almost entirely from barley grown on the plains at the foot of the Himalayas, and it is not chill filtered. Ageing in ex-bourbon casks brings fruit to the palate, with hints of spice and chocolate. The distillery now offers small batches at a natural strength above 60%. The nose combines bourbon notes with rich barley, like a caramelised biscuit dunked in coffee, with some spice. The palate is bitter-sweet, with oak and barley together, soft oils, blood orange and a buttery note.
