Amrut Peated Cask Strength is a peated Indian single malt from the Amrut distillery, which was founded in 1948, a year after Indian independence. It is bottled at cask strength, 62.8% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is spicy and smoky, with freshly milled grain, peat, black pepper and lime. On the palate it is fresh and zingy, with sweet peat smoke set against raisins and gentle spice.
The finish is long and complex, the sweetness turning rich, dark and smoky.
