Amrut Peated is a peated single malt whisky from India, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose has unusually dry peat, like peat smoke absorbed by an old leather armchair, with a hint of citrus. On the palate, molassed sugar arrives first, followed by peat that grows stronger and makes the whisky drier and spicier, while the molasses holds on.
The finish is clean and clear, with butterscotch and vanilla wrapped around the phenols.
