Spectrum 004 is an Indian single malt from Amrut, named after the Spectrum cask in which it was aged. The spirit was first matured in an ex-bourbon barrel, then moved to a custom-built barrel made from four kinds of oak.
Those were American oak with level three charring, lightly toasted French oak, and ex-Oloroso sherry and ex-PX sherry staves.
The nose gives dried fruits and Christmas pudding, with coconut cream, vanilla, sticky toffee pudding and a hint of sandalwood. The palate is jammy and syrupy, with mild spice, vanilla pudding, a creamy texture and juicy sultanas. The finish is fresh and minty, ending sweet.
