Ardbeg – 14 Years The Unicorn's Tale Anthology #2 (70cl, 46%)

Ardbeg The Unicorn's Tale is the second release in the Anthology Collection, a series of experimental single malts from the Islay distillery. It is a 14 year old, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration and in natural colour. The whisky matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and Madeira casks, an approach described as unusual for the distillery. On the nose there is baked banana bread, syrupy pudding, molasses and tropical fruit, with eucalyptus oil and gentle peat smoke. The palate brings zesty lime and sweet peach, then smoked fruit, aniseed and nutmeg. The finish is long and smoky, with menthol and clove.
