Ardbeg – 17 Year Old Committee Exclusive (Limited Edition) (40%)

Ardbeg 17 Year Old Committee Exclusive is a single malt bottled in 2023 at 40% for the Ardbeg Committee. It is a tribute to the 17-year-old Ardbeg of the late 1990s, which was discontinued after the turn of the millennium. The aim was to revive that earlier profile: balanced, mature peat smoke alongside a more elegant, mineral and delicate side of the Islay character. Seventeen years are said to have tamed the distillery's usual heavy peat. It is described as having notes of aniseed, fresh sea spray and sweet malt, with gentle oak and cocoa.
