Ardbeg 1994 26 Years Old is an Islay single malt distilled at Ardbeg in 1994 and bottled by Cadenhead's in 2021, in a 70cl bottle at 47.4% ABV. It matured for 26 years in a single bourbon hogshead, and 210 bottles were released.
It forms part of Cadenhead's Authentic Collection. Ardbeg was running at limited capacity when this spirit was distilled, following its mothballing in the 1980s.
The nose has gentle peat smoke, aged oak, coastal salinity, citrus peel and soft vanilla. The palate shows restrained smoke over earthy tones and mild spice, with faint sweetness and charred wood. The finish is long and dry, with smoke, mineral notes and light citrus.
