Ardbeg – Airigh Nam Beist 1990-2006 (70cl, 46%)

Ardbeg Airigh Nam Beist 1990-2006 is an Islay single malt distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2006, after 16 years in oak. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The name comes from a legendary beast said to lurk in the waters off the distillery. This is a limited bottling, with Ardbeg's smoky character set alongside sweet, salty and spicy elements. On the nose, Islay peat smoke comes with sea breeze, fresh citrus and sweet vanilla. The palate brings strong smoke, creamy toffee, honey and warming spices, and the finish is long, smoky and sweet.
