Ardbeg Anamorphic is a single malt matured in ex-Bourbon casks that were deeply scored and then toasted using a process called high mocha, used here for the first time. It is bottled at 48.2% ABV.
The treatment changes the balance of the distillery's character. It tempers the briny notes and brings forward a chocolatey sweetness and a pronounced mocha quality.
It is described as moving between sweet, smoky, herbal and spicy flavours.
