A single malt from Ardbeg, the 2022 Committee Release called Ardcore, bottled at 50.1% in a 70cl bottle. The colour is a pale, translucent gold.
The nose is spicy and savoury, with marmite, burnt toast, chicory charcoal and coffee grounds, plus a herbal top note, bonfire smoke and molasses. The palate is fiery, with cocoa powder, dark chocolate, peanut brittle toffee, smoked lime, soot, aniseed and malty biscuit. The finish is sweeter and long, with treacle toffee, soot and smoke.
