This is Ardbeg Ardcore, a 2022 Committee Release in limited edition, in a 70cl bottle. It is made with black malt roasted to the extreme, and that malt defines its profile. It has been likened to biting on a spiky ball.
The nose is bold, with charcoal and sweet smoke. Potent notes of aniseed and dark chocolate follow.
