Ardbeg – Ardcore Limited Edition (70cl, 46%)

This is Ardbeg Ardcore, the limited edition for Ardbeg Day 2022, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was inspired by the punk movement of the 1970s. The Islay distillery used black malt, which is malt roasted until it is very dark, to add roasted aromas alongside Ardbeg's peat smoke. The nose is described as smoke, toasted bread, dark chocolate and espresso, with sweet aniseed and banana. On the palate come crisp roasted notes, strong peat smoke, peppery spice and a sweetness of caramel and toffee. The finish is long and smoky, with roasted and spicy notes.
