Ardbeg Dark Cove is an Islay single malt bottled at 46.5% ABV and released for Ardbeg Day 2016. It was billed as the darkest Ardbeg ever.
The whisky matured in ex-bourbon casks and dark sherry casks, and in character it recalls the early bottlings of Ardbeg Uigeadail. Smoke sits alongside a strong influence of wood from the dark sherry casks.
