Ardbeg Fermutation is a 13-year-old Islay single malt, released in 2022 for members of the distillery's Committee. It began with a mishap. A broken boiler left the wash standing in the washbacks for weeks, which gave the longest fermentation in the distillery's history. The whisky then matured in first-fill and refill ex-bourbon casks. It was bottled at 49.4% ABV without added colour or chill-filtration, and 8,000 bottles were released worldwide.
