Ardbeg – Heavy Vapours Ardbeg Day 2023 (70cl)

This is Ardbeg Heavy Vapours, the Ardbeg Day release for 2023, a single malt Scotch whisky from Islay in a 70cl bottle. Its story is that the purifier on the still, which the distillery credits for Ardbeg's balance, has been removed. The usual harmony between peat and floral fruitiness is disrupted, and darker flavours rise in its place. It is described as a pungent, aromatic dram with a dramatic character.
