Ardbeg – Heavy Vapours (Limited Edition) (46%)

Ardbeg Heavy Vapours is a limited-edition Islay single malt released for Fèis Ìle 2023, bottled at 46% ABV without colouring or chill-filtering. Its distinction lies in the distillation. For the first time, Ardbeg ran this whisky without a purifier, the filter above the still that normally removes the heavy vapours. With those vapours left in, smoky aromas pass into the spirit, and the smokiness moves towards a more peaty character.
