Ardbeg Hypernova is a Committee-only bottling in the distillery's Supernova series, bottled at 51% ABV without chill-filtering, in a 70cl bottle. It is presented as possibly the smokiest Ardbeg yet.
The notes run from tar, creosote and soot to aniseed, smoke and dark chocolate, with bitter almonds, smoked lavender and hints of plasticine and burnt rubber. The finish is said to collapse in on itself.
