Spectacular is the 2024 Ardbeg Day bottling from Islay, and the first Ardbeg to be matured in Port casks. It sits alongside the distillery's classic bourbon cask character and is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, uncoloured and unfiltered. The Port casks give it a copper colour.
The nose has dark chocolate and floral hints with leather and beeswax, a little peat smoke and fresh mint. The palate is full, with sweet toffee and eucalyptus, roasted nuts, a touch of tar and pear crumble. The finish is long, with menthol and salted caramel.
