Ardbeg Traigh Bhan is an Islay single malt named after the 'singing beach' on the island's south coast. This is Batch 4 from 2022, aged 19 years and bottled at 46.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It matured in ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks, and the batches are meant to differ slightly from one another.
The nose has smoky pineapple, sour cream and wood smoke, with fresh oak, leather, toffee and liquorice. On the palate peat is strong, with a salty mouthfeel, smoked chilli chocolate, paprika, toasted oak and white chocolate with salt. The finish is long, with soothing wood smoke.
