Traigh Bhan 19 Year Old is an Ardbeg single malt from Islay, in its fifth batch. It takes its name from the beach found along the rocky coast from the distillery towards Port Ellen, known locally as the Singing Sands. It is bottled at 46.2% ABV without chill filtration.
The nose opens with olive oil, tar, chocolate ginger biscuit and cut grass. Water brings out peppermint, tarry rope, peat smoke and fennel.
The palate is slightly oily, with minty sweetness, creosote, coal tar soap and bonfire embers, alongside smoked pineapple, toasted bread, dark chocolate and camphor. The long finish carries coffee grounds and liquorice.
