Ardbeg – Uigeadail (70cl, 54.2%)

Ardbeg Uigeadail is named after the spring that supplies the distillery with its peaty water. It is a heavily peated Islay single malt, bottled at 54.2% in a 70cl bottle. It is a vatting of ex-bourbon American oak casks and ex-Oloroso sherry casks, joining deep smoky notes with a rich, raisin-like character. The nose is full and smoky, with sea air, cedar and pine needles, coal fire, oiled leather, molasses toffee and chocolate-covered raisins. The palate is full-bodied and mouth-coating, with sweet, spicy smoke, Christmas cake, winter spices and molasses. The finish is remarkably long, with mocha, raisins and aromatic smoke.
