Ardbeg – Uigeadail (70cl, 54.2%)

Ardbeg Uigeadail is an Islay single malt bottled at 54.2% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered. The name is Gaelic for a dark, mysterious place, and it comes from the loch that supplies the distillery's water. It is made by vatting whisky from ex-Bourbon American oak casks, which give deep, smoky notes, with ex-sherry Oloroso casks, which add a luscious, raisin-like character. The result is described as a marriage of sweetness, spice and deep smokiness.
