Ardbeg – Uigeadail (70cl, 54.2%)

Ardbeg Uigeadail is a single malt bottled at a cask strength of 54.2%, in a 70cl bottle. It is a vatting of Ardbeg matured in bourbon barrels and sherry butts, and takes its name from the loch that supplies all of Ardbeg's water. The vatting sets the distillery's deep smoke against raisiny tones from old ex-sherry casks. The nose brings Christmas cake, walnut oil, parma violets, cedar and pine, with treacle toffee and chocolate-coated raisins beneath the smoke. The palate is sweet and spicy before smoke, honey and treacle build, and the finish is long and chewy with raisin, mocha and smoke.
