Ardbeg – Vintage Y2K 23 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

Ardbeg Vintage Y2K is a 23 year old Islay single malt, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition and the first release in the Ardbeg Vintage Y2K series. The story begins with a stock-take at the turn of the millennium, when a handful of casks were found to have been sent to a distant warehouse and left there. The whisky was made from some of the first spirit of the new millennium, distilled in the still that served Ardbeg for 51 years before it was retired in 2001. The spirit was laid down in bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, chosen with increased care under the distillery's new ownership.
