Ballechin is the peated style of Edradour, and this is a 2004 expression matured in Madeira casks. It is bottled at 53.5% in a 70cl bottle.
Edradour stands near Moulin, a few miles west of Pitlochry, in the Highlands. It is believed to have been founded in 1825 and is the only Scottish distillery still kept entirely in the style of a farmhouse operation. The original Ballechin distillery no longer exists, which is why the peated whisky from Edradour is offered under that name.
