Ballechin is the peated style of Edradour, and this is a 2005 expression matured in Burgundy casks. It is bottled at 53.5% in a 70cl bottle.
Edradour stands near Moulin, a few miles west of Pitlochry, in the Highlands. It is believed to have been founded in 1825 and is the only Scottish distillery still kept entirely in the style of a farmhouse operation. Because the original Ballechin distillery no longer exists, the peated whisky from Edradour is sold under that name.
