A 12 year old single malt from Balvenie, released as part of The 1931 Collection. The collection takes its inspiration from whisky distilled in 1931, the year the distillery's malt floor opened, and the barley here was all malted by hand on Balvenie's own floor maltings.
The whisky was matured first in American oak, then finished in ex-sherry European oak butts from Jerez bodegas. It was crafted by Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie.
It is described as honeyed toffee, sweet malt and ginger, with raisins, vanilla, spice and aromatic oak.
