Balvenie – 25 Year Old (48%)

Balvenie 25 Year Old is a single malt from the Balvenie distillery in Speyside, bottled at 48%. It belongs to the Rare Marriages series and was put together by Malt Master David C. Stewart. The whisky spent 25 years maturing in a combination of European and American oak casks. The nose has autumn fruit, liquid honey and crystallised ginger, with rich oak beneath. On the palate, strong vanilla oak gives way to toasted marshmallow, fresh fruit and cinnamon-spiced apple pie. The finish is exceptionally long and sweet.
