The second rye whiskey release from Blue Run, in a 75cl bottle. It was contract distilled at Castle & Key in Frankfort, Kentucky, and made from 189 barrels. It keeps the spicy character of rye while having the depth and approachability of an aged bourbon.
The nose opens with butterscotch and creamy caramel, then toasted oak and spicy peppers. On the palate, buttercream and shishito peppers lead to apples and pears, then clove and rye spice. The finish brings leather, oak and brown butter.
