A cask-strength Islay single malt, bottled at 59.3% ABV in a 700ml bottle after five years in first-fill American oak bourbon barrels. It is peated to 101.4 PPM and distilled from 100% Scottish mainland Concerto barley.
It is bottled without chill-filtration or added colouring, and is part of the Octomore series from Bruichladdich.
The nose opens with campfire smoke, salted caramel and honeyed melon, with apricot, vanilla and coconut behind. The palate is black pepper and brine, then ripe apricot, peach, melted chocolate and floral honey. The finish is long, with returning peat smoke, salted caramel and a dry, earthy minerality.
