Octomore 16.3 Super Heavily Peated is a cask-strength Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 61.6% ABV in a 700ml bottle after five years in cask. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The barley is 100% Islay-grown Concerto, from a single field at Octomore Farm, peated to 189.5 PPM. The whisky matured in ex-bourbon, Sauternes and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
Honeyed malt, citrus peel, orchard fruit and delicate smoke feature on the nose. The palate moves from layered smoke to dark chocolate, orange marmalade and raisin, and the finish is long, with peat smoke, dried fruit and sweet tobacco.
